  • Once in a hundred years a blanket like this comes around. To celebrate the centennial anniversary of Finland´s independence, Marimekko launched this pattern entitled Veljekset, meaning brothers. Created by Maija Louekari, it was inspired by Finnish folk tales and depicts strong and expressive animals that live in the forests of Finland. This soft cotton-blend throw size is just right over the back of a chair or the foot of your bed- or anywhere when a chill strikes.

    About the Designer:

Founded in 1951 by Finnish couple, Armi and Viljo Ratia, Marimekko is the original lifestyle design company. In the three quarters century since, they've grown through use of trademark bold, effusive prints in textiles and on readymade products into a globally recognized standard of modern design. Literally translated, the company's iconic name means “Mary-dress.”
